FrankenStitch exists because fashion throws too much away, then acts like that waste has nothing left to say.
There is a whole layer of the industry most people never see. The discard piles. The sorting floors. The clear-outs. The textiles that get pre-judged, passed over, written off before they ever get another chance to become something. Not because they are useless. Because the system is built to move on too fast. FrankenStitch was made in refusal to that.
It starts with materials the industry has already overlooked and works backwards from there. We are not talking about the trending thrift store racks. We are talking about the stuff thrift stores dont know what to do with.
Unpicking. Reworking. Rebuilding.
Letting the seams stay visible. Letting the process stay present. Letting the history of the fabric come through instead of sanding it down into something more acceptable. The point is not to make waste look innocent. The point is to prove that value was there all along.
This is not about neat redemption stories or polished sustainability language. It is about material honesty. It is about refusing sameness. It is about making clothing with grit, personality and structure in a fashion culture that keeps rewarding speed, repetition and disposal.
